Because I just got this. It's a 2006 Heritage Prospect.

Currently Fralin P92s are installed. I will be selling them to offset the cost of this beauty and installing either a set of Gibson 57 Classics (with Alnico 3 magnets) or a set of BG Lizards. I haven't decided which yet. What's your vote?

Nice axe!

Are those my only choices for pickups??

I'd vote low wind 59 style pickups if I had the choice but if the only options I have are the ones you listed I''ll go for those BG pickups since they are low wind. I love the low output Pat # pickups in my ES-335 so I'm guessing I'd like those too!

Gorgeous guitar. Of those two choices, I would go with the Lizards. I put SD 59's in mine and love them. Enjoy that beautiful guitar!!

I decided to keep the Fralins. By the time I add up the resale value of the BG's or 57 Classics and the installation cost to install the pickups in a semi hollow, it's almost as much as the resale value of the Fralins. I may as well just enjoy the Fralins.

Very nice.

And I'll be keeping an eye on the trading post, I've caught the semi-hollow bug as of late.

Good call. I've never had Fralins in anything, as I'm not a modder, so I wasn't about to say anything, but I don't think I've ever heard anyone anywhere diss Fralins.

Yeah, once you go bigtime on a semi hollow, it pretty much deems the rest as sellers rather than keepers.

There's a big difference between high end and entry level 335 type guitars. It's apparent in the same way it is with acoustics. You get what you pay for.

Gorgeous axe...but dont put in gibson 57s. I like gibson axes, but their 57s are one of the least inspiring things they make. You can get much better sounding pickups for less money.
What kind of sounds are you after from that beautiful guitar?

For now I'm keeping the Fralins. If I replace them it will probably be with BG Lizards. I already own a set of Lizards and a 57 Classic/Classic + set. I don't want to spend additional money on pickups if I don't have to.

I'm not a fan of fancy tops, but that thing is absolutely beautiful. Congrats and enjoy it. :beerchug:

+1. 'Least inspiring' is a good term for it. There's some great PAF's out there, and '57's are in the middle of the pack, nowhere near the front. I don't know why they put them in so many models. But then again, I'm still trying to grasp the thought process behind the 498T/490R set.

Congrats on the heritage , it looks amazing!

Curious though are the Ibanez artcores better than the Epiphone dots and Sheratons ? I have had both and found the Epiphones kinda lackluster both in the sound and the feel...

Great looking, Heritage! I have Seymour Duncan, Seth Lovers in my Heritage, H-535. The Seth Lovers sound great in a semi-hollow guitar.

I decided to attempt the surgery myself. It was successful after a bit of swearing.
