Re: I'll be ur best friend if u listen & comment!

Wow! U guys are really givin' me the goods on this one! Best comments evaaaaaaarrrrr! BFFL!!!!!
I'm hearin' a lot of what The Architect said, mainly about lowering the kick a hair, takin' a little verb off the drums, & raisin' the snare.
Xerx, I'm just not feelin' the feedback @ the end. Feels like it would be too much of a forced Weezer thing. & the Bass is not new, just boosted.
Thank you everyone for your insight. Sometimes u get too close to a song to hear it objectively anymore.
If you guys lived close to me, I'd invite u all over on the weekend to play G.I. Joes in my back yard. bffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff

In the last choruses, "Someone took the apple that was in my eye" should be in stereo, midrange heavy (as if on a phone) and mixed farther back. The vocals need to be boosted in the mix. They are being lost as it is.

IMO, of course. I'm not a know-it-all, I just play one on the web.

interesting mix for the ending. I hear that as being a nice possibility!

Are the vocals really low for u guys?????????

I hear them very upfront. Am i being over critical of my own voice??? I was almost going to lower them even more.

I think it sounds great, foamy. I would listen to it. (I am) I think the mix sounds pretty good. If anything, the vox at the end when they are doubled are a *little* high, but just marginally so. I like the tone. Nice and fuzzy. Great work.

On a mostly-unrelated note, did you ever do anything else with "Happy"? I liked that one.

Another good one 'foamy. It's kinda Neil Young meets Skid Row meets Counting Crows but better than...eh, Good stuff. Vocals are kinda breathy and way better than YT could do. The guitar playing really shines. Very smooth and well constructed.

I really like it a lot.....I think the vocal melody is great. Really really good. It begs to be sang along with. You've got a great voice too. It seems like you're using it well, not trying too hard. Very relaxed sounding.

Having never posted any clips myself I don't really have the right to be critical but a couple of personal observations...the guitar intro doesn't lead easily into the song, it's kind of abrupt. The overall melody of the song is so good I think the intro lacks in comparison.

I like the guitar playing, it lays a thick soft foundation while being interesting, not just straight bar chords.

The solo fits very well and has some really cool parts, although the scale run at the end doens't seem to fit as well as the rest.

I dig your chord choice at the very end, where it decends...very cool, I think you should incorporate that throughout the song. Maybe at the end of each chorus or something.

I really really dig the chorus. The vocal melody is so good it cracked me up the first few listens.

The overall mix is good, the vocals are good where they are though the drums sound steril.

I really like the song a lot.....you've definately got talent. I'll be interested in hearing some more of your stuff. :beerchug:
