Just got an email back from MJ. Apparently, the older style Vintage Rails/Ducks can't be converted to 4-wire by the Custom Shop.

And I had such a grandiose wiring scheme all drawn up. :yell:

Apparently, the old ones are sealed with epoxy, then wrapped with copper shielding. I peeled back some tape to look. There's no way to get inside without destroying the pup.

But thats ok. They should still sound great. I just can't split the 3 low strings of the bridge with the three high strings of the neck . . . and so on, and so forth.

You can do it with the "new" ones. I just don't have the funds, at this time, to buy three new pups.
