On Sunday I shall be getting the train to Brighton to buy a Laney VC50 from our very own richard parker!!

This will be my first tube amp. Up till now I've been using a Marshall MG series 15 watter.

Looks like a pretty good combo for you Gingrel. A local sale with a great amp and a very upstanding fellow forumite.

I don't think you can go wrong.

The VC50 should have wonderful cleans. I think you will be very happy.

BTW, I'll be listening to you from across the pond as I know how loud that rig will be. ;)

NO shipping will get you an amp with a better chance of not having issues.

Cool stuff, I've heard nothing but good things about Laney amps, and I've toyed with getting a VC50 in the past. Oh, and I concur with the above post....:D

Sounds like it's gonna be a great day in many ways ! Enjoy it all and what comes after. You'll never look back once you play through valves.

Congrats! I used to own one and it's a great amp. My only gripe was the speakers but that's an easy fix. If you're allowed and have access to one, I'd bring a hand truck on that train. Those VC-50's don't have 2 handles on them for nothin'.

G is definitely happy :D

I'm fully prepared for a tough journey home, but hopefully me and my friend (who i'm bringing along purely for the purpose of helping to carry the amp) will be able to handle it.

It was a pleasure meeting you and I hope you enjoy the amp. It certainly sounded like you were having fun with it. Try your Blues Driver through the clean channel and I think the results will amaze you.

I wish I'd seen this earlier!!!! That would've been great!

I enjoyed the tone, but not so much the lugging of that beast back home...

The pleasure was mine Ritchie! I had great fun with it, although your skills put me to shame :D

I will definitely give the blues driver a try, sounds like a very good idea!!
