I'm seriously considering an impulse buy!!

All this impulse buying has got me going - thought I might want to share with some of you guys what I may be considering getting in the next couple of months.

Yes it's a US Hamer Monaco III and the specs are as follows:

Body Type: Ivoroid Bound Mahogany
Top: Hand Carved with Spruce top cap
Tuners: Chrome Schaller
Electronics: 5-way Rotary Switch, Vol, Tone
Bridge: Tune-O-Matic, Bigsby Tremolo
Inlays: Victory
Neck Joint: Dovetail Joint
Scale Length: 25 1/2"
Pickups: Seymour Duncan P-90's

I played the one when Matt Smith brought over his to the UK a couple of weeks ago. All I can say is that it is gorgeous and I have fallen in love!! :) I am hoping to get a good deal on this - but this will take 2-3 months so around Christmas time I might be getting this.

looks really nice Norman! Altho I'm wondering if considering buying a guitar over the next month doesn't take away the "impulse" status of the purchase ;)... j/k... really nice bro!

It's true, unless you bought it immediately when you saw it with total disregard for your finances or what your wife/girlfiend/mom/significant other would say, it truely is not an impulse buy. :)

Thanks for your comments. It will be an impulse buy because I have not figured a way of telling the wife about it, her impulse will be to hit me with something very hard :smack:

As for being able to get the guitar now - these Monaco III's are rare in the US and only a very few are made. In fact they usually take up to 6 months to complete because they are hand made. I am hoping that a good friend of mine will be able to cut me a very good deal from the factory direct and so it will be at least a couple of months before he will be able to get it to me. It's as good as mine - the only thing is the timing.

List price is $3500 actually and because of the rarity you have to pay almost that - however it is going to be mine for considerably less!!

wouldn't that be an impact buy rather than impulse?
