importing used guitars from Japan-CITES paperwork needed?

So as some of you know, i recently found at a local Guitar Center a MIJ Epiphone Les Paul and absolutely fell in love with the thing. They are very rare to find in the states bot abundant in japan. There are a ton over there for very decent prices.

My question is, do I need CITES paperwork to be able to import these guitars? One seller i notified said he has had no issues with buyers in the US needing paperwork.

Anybody have experience in this realm?

If it has rosewood, then yes.
