in the mood for my Jazz pickup today - what a great pickup

Do you ever find yourself caught up in a mood or something where you seem to hear things far beyond you ever did before out of a pickup?

This is a first for me but today I was playing away as usual and hit the SH-2n on my Strat and was mesmerized by the sound. I heard a depth and quality I never have noticed before out of it. I tried switching pickups but kept quickly returning and finally stuck to the Jazz. It was great, everything I played just had a new life to it. Maybe I'm going crazy, but I doubt it, just one of those lucky moments in life where certain things just come together.

Have a get together with a few friends tonight and I'm going to see if I can play the Jazz for the entire time.

Cool. Maybe a weather front is moving through.

Could be. Or maybe a flashback. Who knows but it's cool while it lasts.

I love mine. It's so full, rich, and easy for me to express myself through. Thanks for the reminder!

Hmmm... wonder if the wife will get mad if I wake up the kids now... [emoji848]

Better to beg forgiveness than to plead for permission.

Anyone have the.antiquity Jazz? How does it sound? Have you compared it with the standard Jazz?

It took me awhile to find the right guitar for the Jazz. I generally like warmer pickups, but I have this poplar Ernie Ball that was just acoustically dead- all mids. The Jazz is perfect for that guitar, and I don't have any more problems with it.

Have you ever tried the antiquity Jazz?

No, never had the need to get an Antiquity Jazz. Generally, what the Jazz offers isn't something I look for in a neck pickup though, so it it subjective. Lots of people make great music with them. I can't seem too, though.

Thank you for the response.
What do you mean by: " so it it subjective"?

Re: in the mood for my Jazz pickup today - what a great pickup

I think "subjective" in this case means that it's a matter of taste.
The closest I have to a Jazz neck is the Duncan Designed neck pickup in my 7 string Shecter. I have it wired to a push/pull for series/parallel and I love it, especially in parallel.
