This is either because I'm actually extremely excited about this decision or I'm frustrated because I can't post to Facebook for a month because the phrase "Americans aren't that smart" is apparently hate speech, (born and raised in the USA just so ya know).
I've gotten a lot of new guitars in the last few years without feeling compelled to tell you lot, but I have a really special one on the way. I don't know if you all are still copying me but I'm gona do that thing where I try to make you guess what I bought like when I was in my 20's, this time not because I'm a sarcastic ass but out of respect for a time-honored tradition.
Long-time fans will know that several years ago, a member of this forum offered me a price I couldn't refuse on a specific year, brand, make and model of solid-body electric guitar that was an extremely big deal to me. The mods and flaws it had that ruined its collectability on the vintage market made it perfect for me as a guitar player. It's still my favorite instrument and it's one of 3 guitars I keep on the floor near my favorite amp instead of on the wall in my office / studio.
Dedicated fans may have noticed that, while I'm known for romanticizing extremely simple, vintage-style rigs, I have embraced certain modern aspects of the craft as my style has evolved. I'm playing more leads and solos, I'm using tremolo a lot more, and I'm building the massive pedalboard I used to trash other guitarists for having.
This new guitar is the yin to my favorite's yang. It's essentially the same, yet a total opposite. It's exactly my style but something wild and different that will hopefully pave roads towards expanding my abilities. First right guess gets a thumbs up :smokin:
