Incoming NPD - Boss Dual Overdrive.

Used to have one about 25 years ago. They are long discontinued and often selling for more than I paid for it new (about double). I've regretted selling it but they were hard to find whenever I looked for them.

Found this on eBay the other day and decided to grab it. Price is only slightly more than what I paid back in the day.

With a remote switch you can have clean, crunch and lead tones. I always liked the lead channel but at the time didn't really know what to do with crunch mode. Now that I'm older and (hopefully) wiser, I thought I'd give it another try.

Re: Incoming NPD - Boss Dual Overdrive.

I've got one in my basement. I bought that and the OS2 Overdrive/Distortion (and a Metal Zone a bit later) I bought them because they are "more versatile" having several ODs and Distortion available. I should bust out the SD2 to try with my current amps. I think the Crunch channel of the SD2 might be a decent Overdrive. I bet a few mods would help.

Re: Incoming NPD - Boss Dual Overdrive.

At the time I had a solid state amp. Now that I have tubes, it might be different. Also, I used to always use OD into a clean amp, which can work, but I never tried amp at edge of breakup with the pedal pushing it.

I had a few of those back in the day. One of my favorite overdrives. I sometimes wish I still had one. Great stuff.
