Info on Unknown Seymour Duncan Passive Sealed Pickup – Cort Custom Z

They are. But they're clearly identified as "Duncan Designed."

Yeah, no pickups identified as 'Seymour Duncan' are made overseas. But hey, anything of value can and will have copies made in China. Copies are all over the fashion and jewelry industries. There will always be people that care about the name more than the quality or sound.

My supposition on Ed's post was those were 'seconds' or units that didn't pass QC from the Korea 'Designed' factory that got out and were printed with a different logo and put on eBay.

I don't think they have anything to do with SD at all.

right, i dont think those have anything to do with the seymour duncan company in any way

They are counterfeiting Duncans in China to the point they are nearly indistinguishable, right down to the packaging and bar codes. They are not factory seconds or relabels of "Duncan Designed" products, they are full bore counterfeits. Sad, really.

If the OP hadn't mentioned twice in the first post that these are Seymour Duncan pickups...I think no-one would have entertained the idea for a moment that they could be, based on the pics.

While certainly no expert...they don´t share anything in common with any Duncan pickups I´ve ever seen...beyond basically looking like a humbucking guitar pickup.
"SD" written on the back of the pickup looks to be a complete red herring.

I don't know if you saw the eBay ad (which has been taken down now), but they look like Blackouts from the front:

Thanks, no I hadn't seen that...certainly from those images it makes it much more evident that there is a clear intent to mislead.
