Install a single coil between two HB's... cosmetic question.

How would I do this to make it "look" best?
I have two humbuckers in my maple GMW.
Both have creme mounting rings, so I'm
wondering, How should I have the middle
single installed so it all looks"right"?

Does it look ok to have two humbuckers with
mounting rings and a middle single without?
Or are there other possible ways?

I can't change the way the HB's are mounted
so that's outta the question...

Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

It'll look just fine. About the most you can do is get a different color cover for the single.

Is there such a thing as a single coil pickup "mounting ring"
available in creme?

SQHD - I've never seen a cream pickup ring for a single coil, but that doesn't mean there isn't one out there. However, I have seen guitars with several different cream parts that don't quite match - you may be better off with black or chrome (StewMac, etc.) if you're mounting on wood.

If your pickups are mounted on a pickguard (didn't say which GMW guitar you have), then I'd suggest getting a single coil cover that "disappears" as much as possible into to the pickguard. My favorite strat has a Quarter Pound in the bridge - too big for a cover - so the neck cover is black to "match" and the middle pup cover is the same color as the pickguard.

Hi SQUAREHEAD--

I just put a SC in the middle on my tele (now H-S-H): I searched everywhere I know for a rectangular SC mounting ring with no luck; the only SC rings are triangular~~

I made a mounting ring out of 1/8" lexan: I drilled 3 (or 4?) 3/4" holes and finished the job with a Dremel tool and painted it with black spray paint. I'm not happy with the paint job but it looks good if you stand back and squint a little.
