I'm sure this has been commented on before, but I just installed an RS kit and a Pearly Gates set into my "81 Les Paul Standard. Have Mercy, tonight was my first chance to evaluate them and I just love the neck pickup, it's the best neck HB I have used. The bridge is a bit treble forward so I back it off a bit where necessary with the tone control. Yes, I actually use the tone control now. They make a real nice set and compliment each other quite well.
I'm sort of thinking it might be nice to have a bit more output and I could give up some high end in the Bridge, but they are a definite improvement over the 57 Classic and Classic Plus that were in there.
