I am working on a project for a Gibson 2004 SG faded. I am looking to add the Emerson bumblebee 50’s wiring, and want to know how a Phat Cat in the neck and JB bridge work together with 500K pots. I know the pots are perfect for the JB, but never worked with Phat Cats or a P90 style PUP. Thank you for any feedback or suggestions

The JB will be "bright" and have a penetrating upper mid peak with 500K pots.
I've always used Phatcats with 500K because they're alnico 2 pickups and not super bright.
If you think your 500K pots are "perfect" to your ears with the JB then you'll like the way they sound with the Phat Cats too, so use them.
Shouldn't be a problem.

The Phat Cats were designed to put in any guitar that had humbucking pickups in it and not have to change anything. More people probably use a JB with 500k pots than anything else. I say, start there, and if you love the sound, then just enjoy it.
