Installing a JB/59 in my Charvel

Hi. First time poster here.

I'm looking to install a JB/59 back into my Charvel San Dimas HH.

Nothing fancy, no splitting, etc. Can I use EVH pots or any kind of "upgraded" pots?

Can you point me towards a straightforward install HH with all the parts i'll need?

Thank you!!

You shouldn't need any parts, just swap the pickups. Wiring should be the same as above, just ignore the tone pot stuff.

thank you very much! I shouldve mentioned... the Charvel came with the JB/59.... i had have since installed an EMG 81/85 setup...

so i'm looking to go back to a passive wiring.. with hopefully some upgraded EVH pots, etc.

thank!!!

Welcome to the site.

Really good combo there, I have that set in an ESP LTD that sounds amazing.

Good luck with the reinstall.

You should be able to use any 500k or 250k pot you like with the 59/JB. It's all up to your preference.

A 250k on the JB might cut the harsh - if you think it is harsh. But I'd just get a 500k and turn it down a bit.

a 59/JB should sound fantastic in there....(get the 500k pots)

A lot of people like to use a lower value pot with the JB to tame the highs..but you definitely want 500k for the 59. If you’re open to swapping magnets, you could swap the stock A5 in the JB for an A2 or UOA5. Or not, if you like it as is.
