installing hotrodded pickups

I just installed a new set of the hot-rodded pickups in my guitar, followed the way they were and I still have the same tinney sound, my guitar is a jay turser 6 string jtg2 which is a violin shaped guitar just like the beatle base. I hope someone can help me wire these in better. the guitar has 1 rotary volume control, 1 slide switch tone, 1 slide switch base, 1 slide switch rythum/solo, all these are off on switches with 6 pins on back, 1 volume called 2 which is actually a 5 position rotary switch, I would just like to hook up the neck and bridge pickup seperatly. I would appreciate any help, Thanks Mike

Re: installing hotrodded pickups

Sounds like you may have the colors mixed up.

Assuming there's no split coil settings on those switches, the red and white wires off the pickup get soldered together and taped off. The green and bare wire will go to the ground point of the old pickups (probably the back of one of the volume pots) while the black goes to wherever the old ones did (not sure if that would be to the switch first or the in of the pots first).

Got a pic of the control cavity?

Thanks for your help, I think I have it now, they just wire in differently, its a good thing I made schematics of it. I ohmed the old pickups and they are identical to the seymours except for the ohm readings. Thanks for your help
