Installing P rails...

Hi

I'm about to install P Rails into my Epiphone 335 with triple shots.

The triple shot install including the soldering looks fairly easy.

Do I need to drop out the 2 volume knobs to be able to solder the new pickups to them, or can I simply join the Triple shot's 2 wires to the existing pickup wires if I cut them?

Cheers
Darren

Re: Installing P rails...

Certainly, you can attach the Triple Shot to the existing pup wires if you cut them. But the color codes are different. The white wire from the Triple Shot is the lead wire and should be spliced to the red pup wire going to the vol pot. The black and bare wires from the TS should be spliced to the black and bare pup wires going to ground. (This is assuming that your guitar has Gibson pup color coding).

Thanks. Managed to install them very quickly.

Can I just say.....WOW! This guitar sounded good with the stock Epiphone pickups but now it sounds 500% better. That neck P90 is friggin awesome, and this is now my favourite guitar!

I play through a Marshall JTM30 tube amp and it really does sing, I love the way the notes break up when it's cranked.

Thank you mr Duncan!
