I started taking apart the bass last night......have not read directions....and of course have a question :)

Antiquity II's only have 2 wires. Should I keep the old metal ground plates (removing foam so the new pickups fit)? thanks!

ive done it both ways and i didnt really notice a difference. if you keep the plate, make sure to keep it grounded. i love the way the antiquity ii pups sound by the way

I chose to leave them in minus the old foam...worked like a charm. The pickups sound sweet! I still need to finish my setup and I'm getting a new pickguard tomorrow.

Looks like the bare leg of the tone capacitor might be touching the pot casing. That would turn it into a master volume the way that Jazz is wired.

if that leg touches the pot casing, it will cause an issue. make sure it is not, then test again

It looks like you have a blob of solder shorting the cap. The hour glass looking thing that bridges the 3rd leg of the cap to the casing needs to be gone

To me the symptoms fit a broken pot. Measure with a multimeter whether the volume pots fully close.

No need to bust out the multimeter. His last two pictures both clearly show that the control is functionally wired like a volume pot.
