Installing SSL-3

Hi all,

Another SSL-3 install question!

The pickup wires come out of the top and bottom as opposed the the middle rear of the pickup as per the diagram. Does it matter which way round the pickup goes?

Is the black wire at the top of the pickup?

depends on the orientation ... are you looking at it from the top or bottom?

if you are looking at it from the bottom -- as you would install it in a pickguard, the wires come out at the bottom.

Nope. With a flat stagger, it works either way. It's usual for names and logos (such as "Seymour Duncan") to be legible while the guitar has the headstock above the body, though.
