Interesting sequence of notes

Not sure what this pattern corresponds to theory-wise, but I was really digging on the 6-10 stretch on the B string, which led to some odd-sounding licks. Thought I'd share, in hopes that more people might do the same with stuff they're working on.

The licks tab out (roughly) like below. The first two are just variations at the initial position. The 3rd is easier (at least for me) for bending the G string since it's higher up the neck.

Duh - I guess this is just c mixolydian. Apparently I don't typically use that sequence of it very often. Sounded more exotic at the time, hehe.

The last lick is a bit different since it bends up a whole step - that's more like g# blues (or a whole bunch of weird scales according to http://www.chordsandscales.co.uk/finder/)

Re: Interesting sequence of notes

I haven't wrote lyrics in 4 years or so. grain of salt. I was looking at the Harmony Central songwriter forum, reading articles with the thought of good lyrics, and writing a diary/lyrics on a daily basis. some stuff I wrote was just there, not really song material. The song is supposed to convey feelings, so I would listen to the song I was writing lyrics for, then would look through my lyrics I already wrote and then find one that fit and then re-write it to make it flow better and enhance the quality.

I like all three of those licks, but mostly the second and third ones. I play almost exclusively in mixasloppyin.

Re: Interesting sequence of notes

That's funny. I never quite heard too much difference between the modes before but it's becoming clearer.
