If you are recording on your computer, you'd need a decent audio interface (a USB one would be fine), a DAW (software- this comes with many audio interfaces), a microphone, comfortable headphones that sound good and don't hype the bass, and flat-ish sounding speakers to mix and listen.

Given your budget constraints, there's nothing I can really recommend that would be worth it. Best I could suggest would be k240 headphones. Anything your comfortable with would be a good start

I know my budget is going to be a huge issue but I am just trying to get something going. I'm also trying to set aside more money so I can get more and better equipment. But bills and being the only person really working in a house with 4-5 people at any given time makes it hard to save. I'm not trying to complain just explaining my situation a bit more.

I understand your situation, and that's why I'm not recommending speakers that are $300 + each. The headphones I suggested are $65 US with free shipping from Amazon. And in all honesty are going to be better translating than a pair of ****ty speakers

Thank you. I have a list of everything I need saved on musicians friend and the price just keeps going up lol. I really need to find a way to get some extra money.

I just plugged in a Koss set of HP's , I like Koss HP's over all especially their electrostat's .
Fooling around with my newly arrived Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 I was blown out on just how good
these inexpensive lower entry Koss HP's are :dance: .
I also really like my new 6i6 too . Can't wait to get another set of really good quality HP's now ,
not that I feel these Koss HP's I presently have can't cut it in the editing process , because these
will surely fill the bill , only thing is I know there are better --
GAS attack coming on .
While listening to MSNBS and other news programs on the 6i6 with these Koss HP's , the back ground
studio activity noise was really easy to make out in detail .
That is unreal , random conversations came in to the point of understanding them easily . These little
HP's sport a boom mike too . I guess they are for gamers . Oh - wow - I forgot about gaming , it's
been a while . Had to stop , I was getting very good at online Death Matches and realized it was sucking
up way to much of my time .
Funny thing , what I personally liked about gaming online was how it improved my eye hand co ordination
response time , this I believed help to improve my attack on lead guitar YMMV though heh heh heh :eek2:.
