interresting discovery

a while back i posted a thread about replacing my spider II for a bass amp. But now i tried my bass through it and although the spider might suck as a guitar amp,if you don't use pedal in front of it, it delivers some serious tone when used with a bass. it can keep up with about any 30w bass combo i've played so far(including warwicks and GKs). Gotta be careful to not destroy the speaker when turning up too loud but tonewise it rocks.
Just a tipp for those of you have a spider and are tired of it and also have a bass at home.

Re: interresting discovery

I haven't got one of those myself, but a friend has one, so I might be able to try that out...

Re: interresting discovery

might be a good idea. The voicing of the amp(way to dark for guitar playing imo) makes it already good for bass, getting a new speaker might further imporve the bass sound while still being able to access the amps clean channel(only thing i use on the spider since i put pedals in front)

12" bass speaker recoomendation anyone?

Re: interresting discovery

Also you might want to grab an EQ pedal to boost the lows even more, and maybe some sort of compressor or limiter.
