Intersting pickup situation

Ok, here it is:

I have a Les Paul Standard with Burst bucker Pro's and a Kramer F-6000 that original owner put a Seymour Duncan Invader in the bridge (slanted with floyd rose).

I play the Les Paul and I miss the the mids and compression (?) of the invader. I play the Kramer and I miss the openness of the Burstbuckers.

What can I put in the Les Paul that isn't overly compressed but gets some of the output and mids back?

I mainly play rock and metal

Not limited to Seymour Duncan

Thanks!

Put an A8 magnet in the bridge and you'll get more mids and output. Some guys here like A4's in the neck slot. Only costs about $3 for a mag.

Check Project Guitar.com for a mag swap instructional video.

I'm with Blueman on this. First try the easiest and least expensive option...replace the existing magnets. For the LP, take out the A5 from the BBP (bridge) and put in an A8. That will give you more mids, soften the highs a bit, and beef up the output.

For the neck BBP, if you want more mids there too, replace the A5 mag with a UOA5 or an A4. You'll get a similar tonal change but without the output boost of the A8.
