Intonation Tips, for alt. tuning switch hitters

I switch between Standard D and Drop C tuning. (same as standard E tuning and Drop D tuning, just starting with standard D)

I was setting up a tele the other day, thinking, what am I going to do with the low C(D)?

So I decided to set the intonation with the low string tuned to C#, which is the half step in-between C and D, which I typically use one or the other...

If you switch between standard E and Drop D, you would tune the low string to Eb(D#) again, the in-between note.. Then set the intonation on that.

I would do this after setting the intonation for all the other strings...

It works well, sounds fine, and I like it. It's possible I read this tip somewhere in the past, who knows, and never tried it. But I doubt it.

I'd like feedback, any questions, suggest you try it, and would appreciate everyone putting their own tips in relation to setting intonation on electrics.

Then perhaps they can throw it in the vault.

Cheers!
