I love the idea of this pedal, but I already fill this role with EQ pedals. Is there any advantage to the PB over an EQ (aside from simplicity and form factor)?
470k input impedence is a pretty much standard. The recommened input/output impedence is at least 10/1, and with a 10k pickup, that's a 47/1 ratio, so even with only 470k, you are reaching the point of diminishing returns.

I was wondering about that too once you posed the question. If I had to guess, 470k would be slightly less prone to noise, especially if you link a bunch together. May be some other reason though.
When I did my mod, I wanted to A/B the two different impedances. But I couldn't switch the "Z" without also switching in the 6 dB boost, which made the test meaningless.
