Dont think in terms what should be.
First play your guitar and fiddle around with your amp and settings. If something comes short, tell us what you like and what you dont like about it. And tell us what is your amp/speakers and what is the sound you want to have. Then we can give you hints.

i play through a pod xtl into a randall rg100 combo i don't use the amp simulator i find you get a more natural sound...it is a pretty killer metal tone..i have loved the invader for years but i was always putting them in alder body guitars and absolutly love the metal tone you get from them but i have heard a lot of people say they are not good for mahogany.they get muddy.i just figured if they made my ****ty guitars sound good what would it sound like in a good guitar

+1^infinity.....it's not about a general consensus - it never is. It's about YOUR tone :)

Invaders are surprisingly awesome in mahogany. Give it a shot.
