Re: Invader vs. X2N

the invader is a very bass heavy, mid heavy pickup, really hot too! good for metal.
the X2N is also very hot, but more focused on the high end. kinda like the Distortion but brighter.

yeah agreed.
so if u prefer a thicker powerful chunky tone then go invader.
if u like bright cutting power, go with the X2N

Re: Invader vs. X2N

The X2N has a balance of low/highs mids with good treble, and low bass. The Invader has a lot more bass and low mids. The invader is better for heavy Rhythm, while the X2N is more for leads.

Re: Invader vs. X2N

I'm not sure why you guys are deciding that that Invader is bass and low mid heavy. I've found it to be an extremely balanced pickup across the entire spectrum. It's real loud and it IS great for rhythm. The X2N is also an extremely loud pickup, but I've found it to be a little noisier and more susceptible to EM interference. It's a decent sounding pickup, too, but I found when I back up on the volume the tone turns to mush. Didn't seem to happen as extremely as on the Invader.
