Hey guys- I have a Gibson T-Top pickup laying around and it measures at about 8.6 ohms. Is it good in the neck of a HH alder strat with maple board?

I'll be using a PATB1 in the bridge. Will the T-Top sound ok?

probably one of the best sounding neck pickups ever.A bit lackluster and bright in the bridge, but in the neck its simply glorious even in a bright guitar. In alder should be no different, but in a warm guitar it may get too muddy for some styles.

So would that make a good 70s/80s hard rock metal guitar?

What do you think about this setup. I'm trying to combine some old stuff I have laying around and rig up a new guitar with it LOL

OK I have an Alder bodied maple neck japanese strat.

I am thinking of making it a HH setup and putting a PATB1 in the bridge and that T-Top in the neck. Would that be a cool guitar? Yes or no?

Stuff I like- Scorps, Thin Lizzy, early EVH etc...

No expert here, but a lot of that music was played with T-top equipped Gibson guitars.
