Is it just me, or does Ibanez RG style guitars...

Have extremely small control cavities? On my RG4EXFM1, I cant hardly get into it to work on anything without pulling ALL pots and the switch completely out of the guitar..

I trained a vole to crawl into the guitar and do the soldering for me.

Yeah it's small, but I haven't had a problem working on them. Less wood cut out = more toooone!

must have been a small vole. I had to have one of the army men from Toy story work on mine..

Yup. The vole simply unfastened the control parts, worked on them outside the cavity then fastened them all back in again.

That would be because on those guitars the pickup selector, being it is only 2 pickups, is the volume knob (push/pull)....But I agree thats still to small.....

On my RG4EXFM1, I lay a rag on the back of the guitar
Then remove the pots
Solder them on the rag
Then reinstall them

Ragged little things

Not this guy

But they still routed a cavity in the back. Tele-style slot, just in case I wanted to add a knob or two. Plus it's a recessed jack.

Many RGs have pups/controls installed on the pickguard, so plenty of space in those.
