Have extremely small control cavities? On my RG4EXFM1, I cant hardly get into it to work on anything without pulling ALL pots and the switch completely out of the guitar..

That's been my experience.

I used a shoehorn when I worked on my 520 a while back.

Re: Is it just me, or does Ibanez RG style guitars...

I trained a vole to crawl into the guitar and do the soldering for me.

Is it just me, or do****** Ibanez RG style guitars...

Yeah it's small, but I haven't had a problem working on them. Less wood cut out = more toooone! :)

Yup. The vole simply unfastened the control parts, worked on them outside the cavity then fastened them all back in again.

Pfft, who needs controls anyway? :D

Re: Is it just me, or does Ibanez RG style guitars...

On my RG4EXFM1, I lay a rag on the back of the guitar
Then remove the pots
Solder them on the rag
Then reinstall them

Ragged little things

Re: Is it just me, or does Ibanez RG style guitars...

Many RGs have pups/controls installed on the pickguard, so plenty of space in those.
