I recently purchased a used guitar by someone with very acidic skin. The pole pieces, pickup height and pickup ring screws, and some bridge components are rusty. I am doing an advanced wiring job on the guitar and while I got it apart, I am replacing the old screws with new ones.
Can the pole piece screws on a crome covered neck '59 hum bucker be completely removed and replaced with ease, or are they wax potted or otherwise permanently affixed into place, so as to prevent removal?
Lastly, if the screws are replaceable, where would I get such an odd item as 6 pole piece screws, and 8 pickup ring screws (I need the short ones like you'd expect in a neck pickup mounting ring, since I'm using triple shot rings, which are low profile, and the original bridge hum bucker was mounted on a thick bridge ring with long screws, which are now too long to fully seat)?
Thanks
