Should i buy a USA Seymour Duncan JB over the stock Duncan Designed HB jb model? Why or why not?

Im gonna get that dimebucker taken out, taht thing is too nasty. Highs are too piercing in an alder body. I listened to the sound clips of my old pickup, and... its just better lol. I really dont know why the JB isnt too bright in my alder jackson. Maybe the alnico V magnet? Since i like trying different things, i'll pop the tone zone which i adore in my jackson. After i return that damn dimebucker. Good pickup, jus too nasty.

USA JB better than Overseas JB or no difference???

i dunno i think i know what i want in sound, from experimenting and stuff. I need the sound rich, not dark, like alder, but fat too. Tone Zone. Im getting a Tone Zone. Im buying the freakin Tone Zone, then returning this HOT HOT HOT, dimebucker. Too tight, too bright. And you can get some crazy singing tones from a Tone than u get from a JB. Ahem, and thats in a BASSWOOD BODY! HAHAHA. In an alder it would be like angelic.

I havent played the Duncan designed JB but, I also hate the Duncan JB along with the Dimebucker!!!

I doubt there is any diff between them . and I guess the JB does sound nice in an alder body

There are some differences, subtle, but there are.

The JB does sound good in alder, as long as it has a 500k pot for tone and a 0.047uf tone cap. It smooths it out really nice.

wow I never I always thought that with an alder body guitar U would normaly go for 250k pots for JB...
what exactly the Duncanc designed JB .. Is it the stock JB that comes in guitars like Wayne or Jackson ext? or is it totaly diff

There's an explanation somewhere in here from Evan. They are lower priced models that are based off their big brothers but are made overseas, not in CA facilities. They are put in to the entry level Ibanez guitars and other guitars in that range.

You could use a 250k pot with a JB too, I prefer 500k. 250k would take away some of the punch though.

Ok so those are the Duncan designed pups right, that would not be the same as say If I buy a Jackson or Wayne with a JB already in it. The pups in a Jackson or Wayne or ESP would be the same as a JB iwould normally buy right.

I curently use JB trembucker with 250pots and love it... Its a great pup...

Right, those are the Duncan Designed models.

If you buy a high end Jackson, Wayne, ESP, Hamer (I know there's others just don't know them all), then you get a USA made Duncan pickup (if the guitar came with it in the first place - for some it's optional), the same as if you bought it from one of the forum dealers.
