Is my MIM strat an HSS?

I was doing some wiring on my strat today and noticed, it looks like its routed to be an HSS. It doesn't have a slanted single sized routing, it's just a rectangle route the size of a humbucker. I got a spare humbucker that I had lying around and put it in the space and it fit perfectly. What my question is, is would a standard humbucker bridge pickgaurd allow me to put a humbucker in my guitar without incident? Is it standard for MIM fender strats to have HSS routing even if they're SSS?

I think Fender uses swimming pool type routes often. They do this because it's faster and easier to produce. It doesn't change the tone as many others can attest to.

As long as you have the swimming pool route, with a normal strat pickguard, you can change the pickup configuration to just about whatever you like.

I've got H-S-S too....nice to have that option for a quick change instead of having to route it out if you wanna throw a 'bucker in there!

i got this from allthingsstrat.com
after the year 2000, mim standard strats are routed H-s-s(mine is like that too, cause mine's a 2001) and fender started using alder on the standard mims from then on.
hope that helped,

My friend's MIM strat is a bit older and it's routed H-S-H. What year did Fender start doing this?
