Is there a P-90 sized pickup that sounds close to a PAF ?

I've got a Les Paul Deluxe with mini-humbuckers (the routes are the size of a P90). Is there a PAF that will fit that route?

Yeah! The Antiquity II Mini Humbucker is designed for that sound.

If a P90 will fit that route, the only SD option may be the Custom Shop Humbucker under P90 Soapbar.

minis dont sound like a paf, and you already have minis in your lpd. i do love those antiquity ii minis though, great pups!

i dont know of a pup that sounds like a paf in that size, but the custom shop could make you something to get you there. part of the issue is the narrower spacing, but they can do some amazing things

Dimarzio and Rio Grande make P90 sized humbuckers. I haven't tried either of them.

ive tried the dimarzio ones and they are not bad, but dont sound like a paf at all

Their narrower aperture gives different harmonics to P90 sized humbuckers. Gibson mini-HB's have also a lower inductance ( roughly 2/3 of a P.A.F.) and it contributes to make them sound thinner / weaker.
Now, one with a P.A.F. style inductance can sound "close enough" to a full sized Gibson HB. I've recently evoked as an example of that the nickel covered mini-HB mounted by Epiphone in their Wilshire 66 RI: it's wound with thinner wire so it has a higher DCR than a P.A.F. clone but it has the right inductance (4.5H) and makes the guitar relatively close tonally to a Gibson SG (with a tad more focus, which is not a bad thing)...
Any mini-HB with cover and wound with 43 AWG above 10k should do a similar job.
