Is there anything I should/shouldn't be doing with my solos

I don't have clips I apologise maybe in a week or two. I've been extremely self conscious about how I solo since i personally don't know a hell of a lot of scales (Min Pentatonic, Be-Bop,Major and thats about it).

This is something I started working on about 15 mins that's more blues/jazz/alt country influenced (outside of my normal style which is more metal) but I was wondering if i could get some pointers as to what i might be doing wrong or what I am doing right as i am competely self taught and just learned by emulating guitarists i looked upto mixing my own style.

Another one which is more my style (More metalish) is a bit like this

(166 tempo and 124 at the part with the 4 whole notes back to back

edit: I just realized the timing in the tabs didn't come out right and i apologise for that, im kinda way too tired to fix it and i have to go to orientation day for Tafe tomorrow so i don't have time to fix it at this moment but will when I get the chance

The best advice that I can give you is to just listen to it man . . . if it sounds good to you, then run with it. Theory and scales are just ways to organize notes, and to get your mind to think musically. It all ends up taking a back seat to things that sound good. The fact that you're taking the time to plan out and analyze what works in your solo is awesome (it's incredibly boring just listening to someone playing a minor pentatonic over a I - IV - V progression), just remember to really focus on your phrasing if you're trying to learn a new style of playing. The difference between a lot of metal, country, rock, and blues licks is often as simple as phrasing . . .

Forget the tab. Just post a clip and let us hear what you are talking about. No matter how impressive a tab might look it does not guarantee a great sound. It's all really in the ear so it's going to be hard to gather from your text tab.

thanks so far guys i will definitely post clips whenever i can.

I should say I don't really like sit there and "work it out" the way that I do it is i tend to "hear" how the soo should sound and then figure out the notes, durations, whether or bend, vibrato, palm mute the note, etc and then learn the whole thing after i figure out what it is im hearing (so I dont forget what it was i was hearing).
I know that might not make a whole lot of sense butt hat's the best i can explain it.

as i said above when i get a chance i will definitely record something however i have school all this week (first full week of tafe) so it's gonna be kinda hard to get anything done soon.
