I have a bolt on mahogany body,maple-ebony 24 3/4"neck guitar.bridge pu is duncan custom.wails more than expected but i can live with that since the overall voicing is pretty good on this instrument.
neck is a little 59n which is bassy and no definition in this instrument and too low output compared to the bridge.with the 2 pu's combined it nearly disappears tonally from the mighty custom.so is there any single sized humbucker with more treble and high mid content and less bass than a lil59n and the output of something akin' to a hot rails?any brand as long as it works i guess.THANKS GUYS!!!

I' ve had experience only with a silver neck in a basswood strat,and this one would be under powered in my guitar from what i know.i also prefer a sound closer to a real humbucker,and if splittable even better.is there a particular lace you have in mind?i need something close to hot rails output maybe a little less.

Hot Rails output with more treble than the Lil 59? Unless you go active, it aint gonna happen.

Lower your Custom a bit and maybe a Cool Rails will work. It has a similar voice to the Lil 59 but does have more highs.

Do the pickups in that guitar share volume and tone pots, or do both pickups have seperate controls? The reason I ask is because I find the lil59 or any of the single-sized neck humbuckers can sound under-powered and murky through 250k pots.

I have a Strat with a JB in the bridge and a lil59 in the neck. The combined tone of those two pickups is pretty cool but the JB is definately the dominant pickup. I have a series/parallel switch wired to the JB, and the JB in parallel is far less agressive so the combined tone of the two pickup sounds more balanced.

It's sort of a fat Tele tone.

Is the cool rails neck higher output than the lil59n?would a cool rails bridge work in neck position for me?

How about a JB Jr?.

Also, a Dimarzio Chopper should do it too. I'm selling one ;)

Is the JB jr neck louder then a lil59 neck?Does it have the mid-hi peak its bigger
brother has?If yes then i am worried it might be too much.
I have not a clue about chopper.I could be interested.how do u think it would be like in my instrument?I definitely dont want bassy.I think i need balanced to trebly.

Cool rails and jb jr,which is louder,which has less bass?Neck positon.
