Is this a quarter pounder?

Re: Is this a quarter pounder?

yeah, but it could also be one of them Ibanez pickups from the 80's. A local guy around here has an old Roadstar and it's got those huge pickups in it, and it's stock. Send him an email to take a pick of the bottom of the pickup.

Re: Is this a quarter pounder?

It seems to be a 1/4lb. The bobbin suggests it. I have a Roadstar strat, and they use three pickup height screws, two on the sides and one in the middle where a tele's third screw is. It's probably not an Ibanez. Also the pole pieces have the cylindrical "bull's eye" pattern in them, and Tom Anderson's pickups don't. It's hard to tell from the picture if the poles protrude from the top, but the flat Duncan's are flush with the top. They don't look staggered. But finally, the rust pattern suggests that the poles were chrome plated, and the rusty areas are where chrome has come off. If that's the case then it might not be a Duncan, because I don't think they plate the 1/4 lb poles. I could be wrong about that, though. But most generic pups with a base magnet and steel poles are plated. That's about all I've got for you. :)

Re: Is this a quarter pounder?

wtf happened to that left pole? It looks like someone hit it with a rock hammer a few times.
