Is this neodinium valid?

Hello!

I am new at the forum and I've been enjoyed too much reading about magnet swapping in humbuckers in this forum.

Well, I have a pair of Alnico 5 magnets from and old (1993) Gibson P90 and I plan to swap the A2 bar in a 490R to one of the A5 from the P90.
Just for fun, I previously swapped one A5 bar of this P90 to an Epiphone humbucker, but I feel that perhaps the A5 bar is not full power.

I have found a local supplyer that sell 64mm-13mm-4mm neo bars, http://www.aimangz.com/industriales/imanes/bloque-grande/pag-2-5

Will this neodynium bar be usefull to recharge my A5 bars?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Is this neodinium valid?

My understanding is that stronger magnets weaken the magnetic field of weaker magnets. Neodinium should do the opposite of what you are going for. From what I hear people use them for weakening A5's and A2's to make their pickups more "vintage" sounding.

They can be used for both, it very literally depends on how you flip them ;)

I plan to build a wood Vise for these purposes.

I undrestand that the way to charge them is putting them the way them stand ns/ns/ns each other.

I wanted to ask if the neos I submitted would be strong enough.

Thanks for the answers.

Yeah! but I am not a common boy :cool2: I like strong magnets.

for those interested in spelling, it's neodymium...never actually played a pickup with a neodymium magnet, but I've heard clips of the GFS Neovin pickups and they don't sound half bad.
