Is this normal?

Hi, ok i asked about this problem a few weeks ago and cant believe this is normal. I'm getting some very bad ringing noises when playing certain notes and then hitting another note up a fret or 2. Now when i made the clip for people to listen to I only played 2 notes and purposely lifted my picking hand away as to not dampen any strings at all so this noise could be heard clearly. Now all the replies i got told me stuff like " you need to develop better hand technique" or you need to dampen strings and by saying that are basically saying this is normal. Great advice and all but considering i PURPOSELY played it this way this advice doesn't help much.
I realize that you have to dampen strings sometimes but this sound is so bad i cant believe this is normal. Basically if i hit any note that is the same as open string EADGB (while not dampening any openstrings) and then pick a note a fret or 2 up on same string (without dampening) i get this hideous ringing sound. What seems to happen is the first note is making all the open strings vibrate and when i hit the second note its clashing with the original note. If i do the same thing and start on say D# and then hit F up 2 frets on same string it sounds normal as can be.
Now i normally dampen open strings when playing but in a few of these problem areas when im soloing i can dampen MOST of the open strings MOST of time but most inst good enough this sound still comes out, especially on my AIIpro pickup its even louder. I cant see muting every open string constantly all time perfectly. Your going to miss a string occasionally.
Now I just had my guitar setup and had the action lowered and replaced 2 stock pickups with duncans so this is why i think its SO much more noticeable. When I play clean its very minor but with any gain very noticeable .
Here is a clip with gain so its easy to hear. First 2 notes i will play so its normal and then i will move up one fret so you can hear the ugliness.

So whats your opinion
A) totally normal
B) somewhat normal but much more profound then usual
C) your guitar is totally messed up
D) other

please any insight on this i would appreciate

Re: Is this normal?

you could need a refret. if a fret is higher than it should be when you press down a sting 'up the neck from it it might be just enough drop in the string height to rub the string against another fret. -Really hard to explain, tell me if you get what I'm saying.

an example would be when you fret the 3rd fret the sting height is lowered a little and the 4th fret might be rubbing the string.

Sounds totally normal to me. Dissonant notes will do seem to clash, ones that fit will sound nicer together. By learning to dampen unwanted strings with both the picking hand AND the fret hand you should have no problem keeping all the strings quiet that you want that way. Of course you'll hear the problem when you purposely let it ring out like that.

Raising the action a bit could also help this, unless there's a pretty significant height difference. Also LIGHTLY tapping on the fret to seat it (if that's the problem) might do the trick.
