Is this normal?

7F0C9596-0D4D-48A6-B68B-4BD4CE8CC10D.jpeg I have just wired a new build with this configuration. When the three way switch is in the middle position if I turn either volume completely off then both pickups lose all volume. Is this normal for this diagram?

ps: I am a newby here I hope I am in the correct area!

Yes, that’s normal for Gibson wiring. If you want any them to be independent, swap the two wires on the volume pot, i.e., pickup goes to center lug.

Also when both pickups are on, either tone controls effects them both. That’s way I always just do master tone on guitars.

You can reduce the interaction between the two sets of controls in the middle position but not completely remove it. Since you are using the two pickups together you also get the two sets of controls.
