Is this string/pole alignment acceptable?

It's not perfect but it seems the two E strings are just over the poles. Is the string spacing too narrow for this pickup or is it ok?

Re: Is this string/pole alignment acceptable?

you might find you get a bit less sustain on the high e and b, but otherwise it should be fine.

I have a blade SM3 mini in there now but I miss that "aliveness" of the P90. The mini makes great tone but its a little lifeless. Maybe the wax potting or the second coil, but even split it doesn't have that chime a P90 has.

Looks ok to me I've seen much worse alignment than that before that sounded just fine.

It is no worse than the on average vintage Stratocaster.

The strings are inside the magnetic field. They will be sensed. The downside will be the lack of useful adjustability.

If I like it, I may hunt down a narrow spaced neck dogear later on. That ought to straighten it out.

I have an El Rayo on the way for the bridge. Hope they pair well together.

That's nice. I think I'll give the mini another chance. The two pickups look good with matching white spacers and chrome trim.
