Is this the coolest reverb pedal of all time????

Dunno, the Dark Sun and Silver Lake are also pretty amazing. All that processing does cost a bit, though. I've been abusing reverbs and delays since the 80s- and we are just now starting to see these purpose-built ambient effects.

The Blackhole algorithm is one of my favorites from Eventide and the one I use the most. It is also in the H9 and VST. It is cool that the new-gen of the standalone pedal is $100 less than the last-gen, that never happens.

I'm very happy with my TC hall of Fame and Hall of Fame 2. But they're more like a "normal" reverb. They don't do what that Blackhole can do. Of course Pete Thorn is one of those guys who makes everything sound great.

Too expensive for me, lol!! ;) ... I just need something a tad better, than my POS onboard digital reverb.

If I won the lottery. I would with NO exception- buy a real spring reverb tank. ;). Nothing!!! beats real springs :).

Thing that these fancy reverb pedals do that springs don't is...well, you can easily not sound like a guitar. That's what I use the reverb algorithms on my Fractal AX8 for- making weird space sounds and string pads. While I can sound like springs (and modern convolution reverb has that spring sound down), I don't often choose to.

Look for a used TC Hall of Fame. Way nicer than a Boss. Lots of guys selling the original version now that the Hall of Fame 2 has been released. But the original HoF sounds great!

Being mostly a blues player, or at least based in the blues, I pretty much just use my Hall of Fame to dial in Fender spring reverb sounds on my AC30 and tweed Fenders.

The Black Hole is an awesome pedal. I am really enjoying mine but now a days there are so many good pedals it is ridiculous. You can't go wrong with any of them really. It seems like they all do 100 things well and each pedal maker focuses on a certain attribute and if you are looking for that specific thing then that is the one for you but you could easily get by on any of the others if you had to.
