It looks like Zakk has a new pedal on the way...

Re: It looks like Zakk has a new pedal on the way...

yeah i liked how before all his pedals were just regular things anybody could have. he his tone isnt completely groundbreaking on this new album, theres not much reason for all the sig stuff, eh?

I just wanna know if it's true bypass, because Dunlops and Vox's aren't, which is why I wouldn't buy any. Shaves off your high end. I just sold my Budda Wah, and have a Fulltone Clyde Deluxe on the way. Can't wait to get my foot on that badboy.
The crybaby classic is true bypass. Cam out last year or maybe another year back.

I wonder if his tone will improve (i know its opinion) with all this signature gear. I mean this stuff will cost alot, whereas in the past he was rockin out with an SD-1, Boss Chorus, Hendrix wah and rotovibe are generally cheap.

Not real sound logic... Its not like before he was forced to use cheap stuff... Most signature series stuff is more about endorsement money than tone. Of course this stuff will cost alot. Theres the added percentage to it cause its a signature series...

Re: It looks like Zakk has a new pedal on the way...

Has anybody seen his pedalboard lately? Does he actually use his Dunlop Signature Overdrive now instead of the Boss SD-1?

I seen one somewhere, I'll see if I can find it. It had the new MXR OD, and a black MXR Chorus that I read was the prototype for their new bright yellow one.

Re: It looks like Zakk has a new pedal on the way...

i used to have a pic of it, but my old harddrive died so i cant help

Re: It looks like Zakk has a new pedal on the way...

The dude bragged about how all he used was those 4 pedals on a homemade pedal board. Like, "See how badass I am and how simple my rig is. I don't need a $#(*&@ rack to blow you away." I guess when you're that awesome and one of the only real metal guital players out there tearing it up, they're gonna throw the money at ya. Almost every piece of gear that guy uses now is Signature stuff, even his Randy Rhoads V, even though it ain't his signature. :)

Before ya'll start flaming me, don't get me wrong. I'm not slamming Zakk. But you'll never catch me buying signature stuff, because that ain't what they were using getting to the top, before they had their name on something. I guess that's a lie. I picked up a Bad Horsie in a pawn shop for $30 once, and still use it. And I have a guitar with Les Paul's name on it. And the pickups in that have Seymour Duncan's name on them. And I've had Fender and Zinky amps. I owned a Paul Reed Smith. Hmmmmm. Never mind.

Wow! So he is going Dunlop all the way! I never thought i'd see the day Zakk would do signature gear. Well, Dunlop's not that bad. I've heard that the Overdrive is a beefed up SD-1. I guess he couldn't get any endorsement from Boss/Roland as the company never payed anybody to endorse their product. From Jeff Beck to Joe Satriani to Dave Navarro, these Musicians used Boss pedals because they liked it and not because Boss is paying them to use their product.
Still kinda exciting to try how Zakk's new pedals sound like. Just like everybody said before, they're probably going to be vey pricey.

Thanks for the input screamingdaisy! :)

The 535Q used to come in chrome. Mine is in copper. I've never seen another one like it.

Musicians Friend had the chrome and copper ones a few years ago for a VERY limited time. I bought one to replace my stock 80's CB but my parents made me return it... they said I was being "frivolous" with my money. :yell: :argh:

I now have a new 535Q with a Fasel inductor in it... came stock like that and it sounds GREAT!
