Got a call out of the blue from my old guitar teacher last Friday. A few years back, I sold him my Kramer 1984 Reissue. Turns out he wanted to sell it back to me and I was happy to accommodate him.

Here it is:

Custom Custom Trembucker, Original Floyd Rose, EVH D-Tuna, Refretted with Dunlop Jumbos, and Tremsetter installed. Plays and sounds fantastic. Glad shes home again :)

You guys play hockey with those things! LOL

Seriously though, a similar thing happened to me. I had to sell my Dean Hardtail for some quick cash and a few months later the guy I sold it to called me to ask if I would buy back...I did. I know how you feel. :)

Very cool. I never got a chance to try one of those out. I have played a Jersey Star and LOVED it. I'd take one of those in a heartbeat. My '88 Baretta is still one of my favs though and always will be.

Those guitars are great and not so great.

That is. I absolutely LOVE the way they look, but they are made in my opinion very 'choppy'.
I had one and sold it off. I really didnt want to but i just couldnt play it.
First of all the neck is real wide. Not standard fender size. and i have big hands but i just couldnt get used to the feel. the back shape of the neck on the other hand was great.
The headstock is totally cool looking but again it is thicker that usual and looks a little choppy.
And last but not least the body is thicker that standard fender size and i dont dig that either.
I never understood why they made those guitars that way. They are actually totally off the way Halen had his.
The neck on the original 5150 was what they made the EB AXIS ( or EVH) from. Assymetrical and narrow. Plus the body on Halens guitar was standard fender width. And most likely basswood.
At least they could have made them with standard fender dimensions. I would have never sold mine then.

I do totally love the look of them though. Almost makes me want to buy another. Almost.

Hey man, glad to have you back!

Did you buy the 1984 or the 1985 Beretta reissue?
Being kinda contemplating on whether I want one of those as well :D

Re: It's Back!!!! (Kramer Content)

nice axe dude!! Kramers rock.

Hey KeeperOS thats an 84, the 85 has a slanted pickup I beleive.

Re: It's Back!!!! (Kramer Content)

Yes, the '85 has a slanted pickup, slightly different headstock, and a different shaped body. It is a Baretta reissue whereas the '84 is a Pacer style body.

Re: It's Back!!!! (Kramer Content)

Yes and yes, and even if I didn't know it the "1984" under the Floyd would be a dead giveaway.

What I asked tone? was which of the two HE bought that didn't like.
Was it the 1984 like the one the OP had/has or the 1985 which I'm slightly more interested in...
