Ive got a knob problem

i have a serious problem with the volume knob on my guitars that are close to the pickups and up past the bridge. with the way i hold the pick im always bumping into them and rolling off the volume 2-3 notches every time i do. im curious if there are some kind of knobs that are a lot lower profile ( maybe 1/2 the height ) or potentiometers that dont have quite such long shafts to stick the knobs. i dont really wana have to open and close holes on a brand new guitar but i guess i will if i have to.

Re: Ive got a knob problem

what exactly does that have to do with anything in the above post ?

Your topic title is "Ive got a knob problem." So my response was very quick witted, and addressed your dilemma, as I interpreted from your title!

:) I was just joking dude. My only advice is to either get stiffer pots, pots that don't turn as easily, or to adjust your picking attack. I wouldn't cut into the guitar to reposition the knobs.

Re: Ive got a knob problem

im not really into adjusting the way i hold the pick because it took me quite a few months to change it this way and i like it. the knob turning isnt the only problem i have. its hard to mute the top strings if my hand doesnt fit between the knob and the strings =\
