I've enjoyed the tangental replies!.....may need a new amp!!...plugged a cheap strat into and got some nice strat tones out of it, but my much more expensive humbucker equipped guitar I cannot generate tones my hear wants to hear.

I also have mild tinnitus...kind of wonder what kind of bandwith that ringing is taking up...nder:..my ears may be mid scooped!

I would opt for a MIAB-style pedal, personally; though most have too much gain or are unable to compensate for DR mid-scoop.

I would avoid the Carl Martin PlexiTone Lo-Gain. I recently bought one and can tell you it won't give you the tone you're looking for.
