I was wondering if anyone owns or has tried the Jackson Adrian Smith Signature SDX. Is it worth getting? I'm talking about the one made in India.

i played one at GC that was all shmootzed up. Felt like a bag of smashed aszholes. the fretboard was thirsty as hell too.

Re: Jackson Adrian Smith Signature SDX

Ive played 3. the first one was pretty impressive as far as the playability and all. The controls felt cheap as the pup selector blade was flimsy and all. Almost had me laying out cash. The second, I played back to back with the US model (USED) and playability and all were pretty close. I was really questioning the $1000 price diff. It was obviously a cheaper build, and was apparent in fit and finish and again, the controls felt cheap. Im not a pro, but obviously could tell the US model was made better, but not really $1000 better. Def would do a pickup and electronics upgrade on the import. The selector switch feels soo flimsy. The third was more recent and it felt pretty cheap. Almost like older squiers used to feel. I dunno if it was just a turd, of if they have changed something. I know I seem to find alot of inconsistancy with Jackson's new entry level line. (X series) (Ive not tried the JS models as I want a neck thru) Some feel solid, some remind me of what happened back in the 80s when everything started getting watered down.

All I can say is, try first if you can, or buy from someone with a good return policy.

I liked it, but not enough to buy it. Now I make my own strats with much better parts and timber than Jackson/Fender could ever dream of. Shame.
