Jackson/Charvel guys

Re: Jackson/Charvel guys

I haven't played one, but I looked at one in a pawn shop. It looked like a pretty decent guitar - $150 would definitely be a fair price, I think. I hate to tell him it wasn't made in Ft Worth, though.

It seems like I remember a Charvel acoustic in one of Zerb's pictures. I don't know any details about it, though. I bet he's played one, either way.

Re: Jackson/Charvel guys

I think the reason he believes it was made in FT is that the only Jackson dealer in the DFW area is Competition Music in Ft. Worth, known for putting their label inside of a guitar underneath the manufacturers.

I just wanted to know how they played, sounded, and if they were worth a ****.

Re: Jackson/Charvel guys

He thinks it was made in Ft. Worth because import Charvels from '86-90s had a Fort Worth address on the label. I bought one for $100 a few years ago and gave it to a friend who was starting guitar. It was a pretty decent axe for the money, but far from spectacular.

Re: Jackson/Charvel guys

^^ Exactly, JCMIs mailing address while still under AMIC control was in Ft Worth.

The charvel acoustics are generally pretty cool, but there are a few different models. Essentially as with any acoustic play it then pay it ;)

My 625SLX is a completely different beast from the others, though.. 22 frets, sharkfins, Surfcaster body....
