Jackson DK2M Dinky: Real SD's or What

On the Jackson website it says...

Bridge Pickup: Seymour Duncan® JB™ TB-4 Humbucking Pickup

Neck Pickup: Seymour Duncan® Jazz™ SH-2N Humbucking Pickup

...which of course is an awesome combination that I want. However, their fine print says specs can change without notice.

Several websites selling the Jackson DK2M Dinky give the specs as being the real Duncan JB/Jazz pair.

However, although Musiciansfriend has a picture that appears to have the guitar with real Duncans...

(The image MF is using seems to be from the Jackson website which shows real SD's.)

The description says it has the import "Duncan Designed" pickups.

Anyone have any insight as to what the truth is on this issue?

I'm just about 99% sure the guitar comes with real USA duncans.

theres more pics here http://drumcityguitarland.com/inventory/Details.cfm?ProductTypeID=12&BrandID=20

If you're looking and picking up one of these babies, i'd suggest contacting drumcityguitarland, they can probably get you the lowest price around with the best costumer service!

Thanks bro. It seems like an unusually excellent deal with those two pickups plus one of the coolest style of shredder type Strats available for $600. I read on this site that SD have a policy to sell the USA pickups only on guitars above a certain price, but maybe that refers to the suggested retail instead of actual selling price.

I'm not for certain, but I'd be willing to guess that its a price point thats based of the MSRP. There's a slim chance its based of MAP, but its deffinatly not street/selling price.

maybe you should just email those places that are selling it to see if their DK2M is equipped with Seymour Duncans or Duncan Designs

Re: Jackson DK2M Dinky: Real SD's or What

I figured nowadays emails are rarely responded to and the phone answerers would just say, "Well what does the description on the site (the seller's website) say?" and not really know for sure.

The next question is are all the wires on the pickups intact so a coil splitter switch can be added for each pickup in the future? This is a general question regarding SD as original equipment I guess.

Either way, I will go ahead and order one and see what happens.

Re: Jackson DK2M Dinky: Real SD's or What

well, if you're getting a good deal for the guitar, i guess if they really do some with duncan designs, then u could just take them out and buy a couple of seymour duncans. Never too much for a great tone. hah.

not too sure what you mean when you say if the wires on the pickups are intact. well if its a SD pickup, all wires (red, black, green, white, bare) would be there. i dont see why they wouldnt.

Re: Jackson DK2M Dinky: Real SD's or What

Jackson updated all MG and Pro Series this year ,and all pro guitars come with original Duncans.!The Dinky that you posted is not an exception!

Re: Jackson DK2M Dinky: Real SD's or What

It's too bad that it didn't get an OFR like the SL3 did this year... I would have bought one...

And promptly installed DiMarzios :D

They are real Duncans. MF is a misprint (and not a good place to get Jacksons cheap anyway, give the guys over at www.mattsmusic.com a phone call ).

And yes, the wires should still be intact enough to allow funky rewiring ;)
