Jackson DKMGT (Trans. Black)

I won this here for the Christmas contest and was really psyched. However, I'm just not using it as much as I should. I thought, "Awesome, I can use this as a drop-C rip-your-face-off guitar," but I've ended up not doing that. It's in great condition, so pretty much all the imperfections you see in these pictures are dust.

Re: Jackson DKMGT (Trans. Black)

I've had this thread staring me in the face for the last 2 days every time I come in here to look around. I can't bite my lip about it anymore.

This thread is very low class and inconsiderate. You accquired this guitar from another forum bros generosity and good will due to the fact that you were not able to buy new gear for yourself. Now your pretty much slapping him in the face by trying to make a %100 profit of it on the very forum in which you got it from. I don't follow the sales of Jacksons much, but that's a pretty dam good price on a guitar that's almost 6 bills new, so I'm going to say it's a pretty safe bet that the reasons is why you're not getting any bites on it. IMHO, I think you should 1 of 3 things.

1. Send it back to the bro who gave it to you so he can either give it to another on the board that's less fortunate or sell it for himself.

2. You give it to another on this board that's in your position on accquiring new gear like was done for you.

3. Yank the thread and keep it as a reminder that there are still people out there that are generous, kind, and willing to help their fellow man out. No matter what age. Not only remember these things, but hopefully instills the same values in yourself.

It was a VERY cool thing he did for you and this very thread is why you don't see things like this happen more often. Nor do I think you will see it happen again for a long time on here.

I've said my piece, but think about what I said.

Re: Jackson DKMGT (Trans. Black)

I'm sorry but i have to agree, you came across it due to good fortune, it is your choice, but i would have thought perhaps the correct thing would be to pass it on as a gift to a needy forum member.

However obviously i dont know your money situation or private life, i don't wish to offend with this post.

Re: Jackson DKMGT (Trans. Black)

I have the same feelings as 9finger and he put it to words much better than I could have.I know you may be already thinking of the things you could do with the $, but remember the spirit in which it was given and see if you could keep it alive.People will think more of you around here if do.I'll even cover shipping to another forum brother if you were pass it along with the same kind of criteria.

Re: Jackson DKMGT (Trans. Black)

i know what you guys are saying...but maybe he already talked to JeffB (if i remember right on who gave it to him) and he gave him the greenlight...and we don't know the whole situation i'm sure? heck, i'll try to buy it (i'm sure the neck is close to an SG), if we can work something out...and if i ever get rid of it i'll give away!?

I have to agree with everything said here.....

I did a similar thing for someone here when they were down on their luck & the only thing I told him is that if it didn't work out, do me the favor & just play it forward; that is....do the same thing for someone else that was done for you.

Of course, it's yours to do with what you want & really, it's none of our business.....but it might be why you publicly haven't sold it.

As an aside, after giving you this guitar & I'm guessing paying the shipping fees, JeffB had to sell off a lot of equipment due to work issues..........I'll leave it at that.

Re: Jackson DKMGT (Trans. Black)

I did think about giving it to another member, and as I told Hoss in a PM, I decided not to due to financial reasons. However, reading this thread has made me realize that I probably should donate it to another forum contest or something of that matter. My bank account won't feel good about it, but I suppose I will.

But here is where I get defensive. I won this guitar in a contest. I wasn't given this guitar for no reason; I wasn't given this guitar for pity; I was given this guitar because I had a Squier and a sweet poem. I feel like I should be able to do what I please with the guitar. Many of you have stable jobs, and I'm sure I would be much more enthusiastic about giving this guitar away for free if I did too. However, being enrolled in both high school and independent study, I have no time for a job or any stable source of income. I don't get an allowance, nor do I rob banks, but thankfully I've been able to make money buying and selling guitars (thank you, eBay). So between gas and saving money for college, my money tree is looking more and more like a deciduous in the winter. I agree, this guitar is more of a priveledge, not a right, considering my means of acquisition; but I'm willing to bet that more than half of you, if in my situation, would do the same thing. Sure, it's plenty easy to discuss the morality of the circumstances, but if you picked the right numbers in a Super Bowl pool, I'm sure you wouldn't think twice about spending that money.

Anyway, consider this sale cancelled. Unless Jeff_B gives me the green light, I won't sell it. My friend just asked me to join a hardcore band anyway, and Between The Buried And Me just doesn't feel right with a seafoam green and pink Strat.

Maybe you should consider trading it for a different guitar and this wouldn't or shouldn't bother anyone.
But it is yours to do whatever you want with it,This is America right.
Everybody is entitled to their own opinion.

It's the Internet, not America. I have no idea why you said that sentence there but it cracked me a up a lot. I really have no clue as what it's doing there.

Well, if the site's hosted in the USA technically it's restricted/protected under the laws therein, so yes it is 'part of America' if you want to think of it that way. This is why online casinos have servers, etc. in other countries that don't have the same laws as the USA does.

And that is probably the most OT you can get.
