Jackson San Dima's Strat

Ok I'm putting together another guitar. The pick-up configuration is SSH. The Humbucker is a PAF-PRO DiMarzio. The two single-coils are J-100 Jackson's. Which by the way sound very good. First time I ever heard them. But.......I want to take out the neck pup and put in a Lil-59 that I have here. Will the wiring be standard, or will the standard wiring be out of phase? I figure put the red and white together[tape-off] and the green is hot and black is ground? [I'm not splitting it FOR NOW] Another question do you think if I put the Lil-59 in th MIDDLE, Would get a usable tone out of it? Popular Body, Brazilian Rosewood board and a Maple neck? Would it be way to bright? I like the neck single coil. I'm thinking with the 59 in the middle I could wire the 5-way for dual-humbucker sounds plus the single-neck and humbucker middle tone? Sounds like a interesting combination. Basically that how it would be wired automatically by using the 59 in the middle. I've NEVER seen or played a guitar with this configuration. Thinking about trying something NEW? ANY FEEDBACK By the way this is the FIRST Custom-Shop Jackson I ever played or owned, VERY NICE playing guitar incredible neck!

Got it in. Went with the neck position! THINK IT WOULD HAVE WORKED IN THE MIDDLE?

Re: Jackson San Dima's Strat

The Lil-59 in the neck appears to be working OK. What does make a big difference with thes pups is the individual pole adjustment. Really takes the pick-up in a whole different direction. Without the poles adjusted it was OK. Adjusted it is very artticulate. I thought the output would have been slightly higher, and a little clearer tone. But all in all I am Happy. I was going by full size 59's and a Lil59 I used in a bridge of another Strat. Can't go by those, whole different beast! WONDER if the middle would have been much brighter?[with the 59 in it?]

Re: Jackson San Dima's Strat

I'm glad you like it. The JB Jr. was the first aftermarket pickup I ever bought, and though I had it in a crappy guitar, I had a lot of fun adjusting it to tweak the sound. I've never had that opportunity with a lil 59, but I'd bet its about the same. I may have to get a full size humbucker with all screws to mess around with...
